Statement of faith

What we believe.

Two Fish stands with the historic Christian faith confessed by the church for nearly two thousand years. We hold to the Apostles' Creed and the Nicene Creed, to the authority of Scripture, and to salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

The essentials

Ten convictions every kit is checked against.

  1. Scripture

The Bible, Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God, true in all it teaches and our final authority for faith and life.

    2 Timothy 3:16–17 · 2 Peter 1:20–21
  2. God

There is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

    Matthew 28:19 · 2 Corinthians 13:14
  3. Creation

God created all things, seen and unseen, and sustains them by his power.

    Genesis 1:1 · Colossians 1:16–17
  4. Humanity

Every person is made in the image of God and has dignity and worth from conception. Through Adam's sin all people are fallen and separated from God.

    Genesis 1:27 · Psalm 139:13–14 · Romans 3:23 · Romans 5:12
  5. Jesus Christ

Jesus is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man, born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross in our place, rose bodily from the dead, and ascended to the Father.

    John 1:1, 14 · Philippians 2:6–8 · 1 Corinthians 15:3–4 · 2 Corinthians 5:21
  6. Salvation

Salvation is a gift of God's grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ alone, not earned by works.

    Ephesians 2:8–9 · Romans 3:23–24 · Romans 10:9
  7. The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit gives new life, lives in every believer, and grows Christ's character in us.

    John 14:16–17 · Titus 3:5 · Galatians 5:22–23
  8. The Church

The Church is the body of Christ, made up of all true believers, called to worship, make disciples and serve the world. Christ gave the Church baptism and the Lord's Supper.

    Matthew 28:19–20 · Acts 2:42 · 1 Corinthians 11:23–26
  9. Marriage and family

Marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and parents are called to raise their children in the faith.

    Genesis 2:24 · Matthew 19:4–6 · Deuteronomy 6:6–7
  10. The return of Christ

Jesus will return in glory to judge the living and the dead and to make all things new.

    Acts 1:11 · Matthew 25:31–46 · Revelation 21:1–4
Where Christians differ

On these, we point you home.

Faithful, Bible-believing churches disagree on some questions. On these we take no side, and where a topic comes up we present the main views fairly and point you back to your own church's teaching.

How we make our content

Six promises behind every kit.

Scripture first.

Every resource starts from the biblical text. We keep the text, its interpretation, and its application clearly separate.

Checked before it's published.

Every lesson, sermon kit and video is reviewed against this statement before release.

Honest about AI.

Pastor Nate, Jesse and Hannah are AI ministry hosts created by our team. They are labeled as AI everywhere they appear. They never claim personal testimonies, conversions or ministry results that did not happen.

No invented quotes.

We quote real authors only with the source named and never put words in anyone's mouth.

Not a substitute for your church.

Our resources support local pastors, parents and leaders. They do not replace your church, your pastor, or professional counseling.

Nonpartisan.

We teach the Bible, not party politics.

The creeds

Confessed for over 1,600 years.

In both creeds, "catholic" means universal: the whole Church of Jesus Christ in every place and age.

The Apostles' Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

The Nicene Creed

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became truly human. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
